I'm encouraged, I really am.
There's a new NCAA rule in Division 1. In the academic year it used to be two assistants on the road and now it's three. All the three of our guys, their primary role will be recruiting.
We just wanted to give ourselves a chance. What we're more concerned with is 'How do we get better.' We don't have a lot of experience. If you're even going to stay close with a team like this, you have to make shots.
It's been a difficult stretch for us. We're young, we've been beaten around, and we've played 10 of our first 12 games on the road.
He's gotten really big. He's a heck of a player. I loved him last year as a freshman, but when I look at him now, he's really gotten big and can move. It looks like he's gotten stronger this year, physically. If they start getting strong play out of him in the post, [State] is going to be really hard to stop.
The ?and-one? was huge. Thank God we don?t play on TV.
I think our kids deserve a lot of credit. They really, really played their hearts out tonight. ... I think what?s happened with this team is our overall toughness and competitiveness have improved. We?re learning and understanding the fight.
We just lost our patience on offense. We had guys stepping out and shooting threes who don?t shoot threes.
I don?t know how much he liked me at first. I don?t know how much I liked (him). But we like each other now.
You never want to see anybody leave. But that's college basketball. The most important thing is that kids be happy. It's his decision. We wish him the best.
He's a gym rat. Most college coaches know him from when he used to make the rounds in the shoe business. He's got involvement in basketball at every level. He's got the pulse on a lot of things, knows a lot of people.
