Growing up ... in the projects of south Atlanta, I witnessed a lot of things. I've seen people killed, seen people stabbed, and there was always some kind of (cause and effect) behind it. You know, here's a guy, we finished the Lord's Prayer after the game and he died. And that's something I never experienced - somebody to die without any reasoning behind it. That made it real tough for me.
That's what you call winning ugly.
He reminded me of myself in college ? just a raw talent, eager to learn. He was really coming into his own. He just had one of the best drives of his life, right before his life was taken.
